JSP MAKES HISTORY! The Australian Book Of Records has recognised the biggest ELVIS tribute show ever created anywhere in the world. The award was presented on stage to the Creative Director John St. Peeters OAM on Sun 14th August 2022. 2,500 people packed Hamer Hall Melbourne but had no idea of what was about to happen on that stage. When 109 Musicians and Singers walked on stage and took their positions, followed by the Creative Director John St. Peeters conducting the opening Overture, that’s when the stage exploded. It was then that people new that they were in for a mind-blowing experience!

John’s versatility, musical artistry and communicative charisma, has enabled him to establish a recording and performing career that spanned Australia and has seen him represent Australia around the world.
The moment a young boy named Johnny Lo Piccolo took his first steps in the world of entertainment, his unmistakable talent was immediately recognized. Playing a Piano Accordion that looked to be nearly the same size as himself, and with his trademark dimpled smile, his virtuoso performances on New Faces won Johnny 3rd prize encouragement award, 1st prize and a career that would take him to the heights of Las Vegas. It also earned him the nickname “The Squeeze-box Kid”…! After his popular win on New Faces, Graham Kennedy signed little Johnny Lo Piccolo as a regular on his national high-rating tonight show In Melbourne Tonight (IMT).

Johnny could not see himself squeezing a box for the rest of his life and his next dream was to become a successful musician and singer/songwriter. At 17, he changed his name to JOHN ST. PEETERS and co-wrote his 1st hit “You Know That You’re Sexy” which reached No 15 on the Countdown chart.
JSP was soon a regular on the iconic COUNTDOWN and SOUNDS music shows, not only as a performer but also very popular in the compere seat.

John was over the moon to be on the same record label as his idol Elvis, and was thrilled to
receive the following personal message from the King.

John St Peeters was now hot property with his music being played on every radio station
across Australia as well as South Africa and Europe.

For over 6 years JSP’s voice was heard 5 days a week singing the theme song for the very popular TV series WonderWorld. Over 2000 episodes went to air and is still the highest rating children’s program in Australian TV history, winning 5 Logies along the way.

Don Lane personally rang JSP to invite him to perform a duet with Jane Scali on a very Special Don Lane Show. John and Jane performed for America’s legendary Bob Hope and Bob gave them a standing ovation.

The Miramare Group NSW booked John St. Peeters to perform for an exclusive private wedding event. After this performance the word certainly spread. John’s management was inundated with calls from people wanting JSP to perform at their wedding!

Mr Keith Williams, owner of Hamilton Island, personally signed John St. Peeters to entertain international guests with his dynamic live shows for the next 8 years. John opened the Hamilton Towers with a 30-piece orchestra extravaganza to a select audience who flew in from all over the world.

Not updating the name registration meant the loss of ownership of the name BACKSTREET BOYS. A new band formed in Orlando, Florida USA with the same name, hit the scene... The Backstreet Boys are now known as an American vocal group. The rest is history...
Watch videoOn hearing the tragic news of Collingwood footballer, Darren Millane’s death, John wrote and recorded “See The Magpie Fly” in 24 hours. The next day Eddie McGuire, then with Ch10 news on hearing of JSP’s song sent a helicopter to John’s house across town to pick up a copy of the song to play on the evening news.
